At present, all that’s known is that a number of victims reported unauthorized transactions made in various locations in China.   State Bank of India, ICICI, Yes, Axis and HDFC are said to have been hit the hardest by the breach, which is believed to have taken place several weeks ago.   While the…

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/DczkEKpWdXI/
While Tesla’s Autopilot feature, which is still in beta, is pretty cool to see and makes certain operations like parking easier, the company believes that fully autonomous vehicles can ensure greater safety than having humans behind the wheel. To that end, the company has announced that all forthcoming vehicles that it produces, including its presently available models and the Model 3, will be equipped with all the hardware necessary for full self-driving capability. That includes eight cameras for 360-degree visibility around the car up to 250 meters away, 12 updated ultrasonic sensors for detecting objects, a forward-facing radar announced last…

This temporary tattoo could help curb drunk driving

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/YHw-EOmiwMQ/
Engineers at the University of California created an experimental wearable that alerts you when you’ve had a few too many. The wearable looks like a temporary tattoo and contains a sensor that detects alcohol levels in your perspiration and alerts your smartphone when you’ve reached peak stud, or asshole (we don’t know each other). According to Seila Selimovic, Ph.D. and director of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering Program in Tissue Chips said: It resembles a temporary tattoo, but is actually a biosensor patch that is embedded with several flexible wireless components. One component releases a chemical that…

Following up on it’s promise last week, Google has announced you can now download the Android 7.1  Developer Preview, the same version running on the new Pixel phones. Apple confirms October 27 event that could unveil new MacBook Pro

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/j1gZKav0TiI/
Yesterday we found out that Apple might have something up its sleeve for the end of the month. After operating under the assumption that Apple’s October event would feature the long-awaited MacBook Pro refresh, industry professionals were starting to lose faith that such an event would actually take place. It is, after all, two weeks into the month and the company had yet to send out invitations to the journalists who’d be covering it. Today, in true Apple form, the company sent out a cryptic invitation to journalists requesting attendance at an even on October 27  in Cupertino. While Apple is…

Zuckerberg defends Thiel’s $1.25M Trump campaign donation in internal memo

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/-xi7xy1bzTM/
Silicon Valley is still fuming over Facebook board member (and PayPal co-founder) Peter Thiel’s $1.25 million donation to the Trump campaign this week. Just yesterday, Project Include — a non-profit that works tirelessly to improve diversity in tech — cut ties with the valley’s most successful incubator, Y Combinator, because Thiel served as a part-time partner. Peter Thiel seems determined to piss people off these days. As if suing Gawker into oblivion wasn’t enough, the PayPal co-founder then went on an affront that can only be described as Trump-esque in nature. Since the lawsuit, Thiel has declared war on journalism, funded a company…

Samsung fired up over GTA mod that turns Note 7 into a bomb

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/_EX_aAHoO3c/
In the midst of a PR nightmare, Samsung probably isn’t seeing much humor in a Grand Theft Auto mod that turns its recalled Note 7 into a weapon of mass destruction. Is this art imitating life, or life imitating art? I can never remember. Video of the mod first appeared two weeks ago, and today it’s a casualty of the dreaded DMCA notice. Samsung might not be done, either. It seems the company is misusing the DMCA tool to target other videos featuring the incendiary mobile device. In what clearly constitutes overreach and abuse of the DMCA tool, Samsung seems intent…

‘Airportraits’ series is eight hours of airport traffic in one magnificent image

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/5sqP8J6dSJU/
In 2014, Los Angeles-based photographer Mike Kelley became an internet sensation after releasing a composite image featuring seven hours of takeoffs at LAX. The images were taken individually, and then stitched together to create a stunning and unique look at the world of aviation. And Kelley, as he said, spent far too much time in Photoshop to create it. Since his initial viral photo, Kelley has been honing his craft and traveling the world to capture ever-more-beautiful images in the same vein. The result is a series he calls ‘Airportraits’ and it features airports from Tokyo to Amsterdam with the…

First teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is here

Linq: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheNextWeb/~3/axGj2eaWUNg/
We finally have an official trailer for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’ It’s about darn time. It’s just a sneak peak, so it’s light on footage – not to mention any plot details – but there’s still a little we can gather. The teaser harkens back to the original Guardians of the Galaxy trailers, featuring Blue Suede’s ‘Hooked on a Feeling,’ which is pretty much the official theme music for the series now. It starts out a little darker than the trailer for the original movie though, which makes me think the story will take a bit of a darker tone…
